Diamond Dental provides expertly applied dental sealants designed to protect your teeth from cavities with thin, durable protective coatings. These preventive treatments create an effective barrier on the chewing surfaces of molars, preventing food particles and bacteria from settling into the grooves and fissures where decay commonly begins.
Dr. Barry Diamond, DDS, utilizes advanced iTero Element 5D scanning technology to ensure precise application and optimal coverage for maximum protection. Our meticulous approach to dental sealants helps patients of all ages maintain healthier teeth while reducing the need for future restorative treatments.
Dental sealants are particularly beneficial for children and teenagers whose newly erupted permanent teeth are most vulnerable to decay, though adults with deep grooves in their molars can also benefit significantly from this proven preventive measure.
Dental sealants represent one of the most effective preventive measures in modern dentistry, offering proven protection against tooth decay in the deep grooves and fissures of posterior teeth. These vulnerable areas are difficult to clean with regular brushing and flossing, making them prime locations for cavity formation.
Research demonstrates that dental sealants can reduce cavity risk by up to 80% in treated teeth, making them an invaluable tool for maintaining long-term oral health. Dr. Barry Diamond earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland and completed Advanced Education in General Dentistry, with specialized training in preventive care protocols.
Modern sealant materials and application techniques have evolved significantly, utilizing advanced bonding agents and durable resins that provide long-lasting protection while maintaining the natural appearance and function of treated teeth.
Digital precision using iTero Element 5D scanning technology allows for detailed examination of tooth surfaces and precise application planning, ensuring complete coverage of vulnerable areas while maintaining optimal bite relationships and natural tooth contours.
High-quality sealant materials provide durable protection that typically lasts 5-10 years with proper care, significantly reducing cavity risk while maintaining the natural appearance of teeth. Patients experience immediate protection benefits with minimal treatment time and no discomfort.
Cost-effective prevention through sealant application helps avoid more extensive and expensive restorative treatments in the future, while the quick application process makes it convenient for busy families seeking comprehensive preventive care.
Dr. Barry Diamond, DDS, brings extensive training in preventive dentistry from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and Advanced Education in General Dentistry program, with specialized focus on pediatric preventive care and modern sealant application techniques.
Featured on PBS Forum 360 for digital dentistry innovations, Dr. Diamond utilizes cutting-edge iTero Element 5D scanner technology to assess tooth anatomy and ensure precise sealant placement for optimal protection and longevity of preventive treatments.
Ongoing continuing education in preventive materials and application techniques ensures patients receive the most current treatment protocols while maintaining the highest standards of care precision and long-term preventive success rates.
Treatment begins with thorough examination and cleaning of the teeth to be sealed, ensuring optimal bonding conditions for the sealant material. Dr. Diamond evaluates tooth anatomy and discusses the preventive benefits with patients and parents during the consultation process.
Application involves gentle preparation of the tooth surface followed by precise placement of the liquid sealant material, which flows into grooves and fissures before being cured with a special light to create a durable protective barrier.
The entire process typically takes 15-30 minutes per tooth with no anesthesia required, making it comfortable for patients of all ages. Follow-up monitoring during regular check-ups ensures sealant integrity and continued protection against decay.

This is the BEST dental practice in the entire Northeast, Ohio. I cannot STRESS how amazing this practice. I pay out of pocket and I will GLADY spend my money here. This is not my neighborhood dentist - I drive about 20 minutes to be a patient here. 1. I came to this practice after not having dental care for a few years after having my son. I like to tell this story because life happens and I know someone else may be in a similar situation. I was VERY anxious about finally getting my dental health back in order. 2. From the FIRST visit, Dr. Diamond made me feel SO comfortable. I thought I had ruined my teeth but they were not as bad. He was VERY encouraging and explained to me how I would get my dental health back on track. Dr. Diamond is just the sweetest soul. He REALLY cares about his patients. I am so blessed to have him as my dentist. He really gives you options when it comes to your dental health and let's you do what you are comfortable with. I prefer to get my deep cleanings by quadrant and he has kept it that way. 3. Sarah the Hygienist. She has made a life changing impact on the way I view dental care. This is the first time in my life that I am excited going to the dental office and getting a deep cleaning/perio cleaning. Sarah is so sweet and it is like going to see close family. By the time we are done catching up, the deep cleaning is done. She has also given me really good advice on getting my teeth where I want them; both health vise and visually. 4. I have some sensory sensitivities when it comes to the sound of the electronic dental tools and I left my AirPods in my car for this visit. Dr. Diamond literally brought out bluetooth noise cancelling headphones. Like, come on! 5. My son who is almost 6 years old also moved over to this practice and loves it here. Everyone is so friendly and Dr. Diamond always tells him how good his teeth look as he has no cavities (very encouraging for him). I do not gain anything from writing this review. If you really want QUALITY dental care, this is the dental office where you need to establish care.Posted on Caitlin KrapfTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’ve been coming here for the past month for two crowns and a filling, and honestly this place is on another level. From the front desk to the chair, everything is smooth. The receptionist always greets me with a smile and makes check-in quick and easy. And Dr. Barry? Man, he’s the LeBron James of molars. Precise, confident, and makes you feel like you’re in championship hands every visit. Never rushed, explains everything, and the work is solid — I walked out of every appointment feeling taken care of. Dental sealants typically last 5-10 years with proper care and regular dental maintenance. Dr. Diamond monitors sealant condition during routine check-ups, checking for wear or damage that might compromise protection. Well-maintained sealants can provide effective cavity prevention throughout their lifespan while preserving natural tooth structure.
Dental sealants are completely safe for patients of all ages and have been used successfully in dentistry for decades. The materials are biocompatible and contain no harmful substances, making them ideal for children whose permanent teeth are most vulnerable to decay and adults with deep groove patterns.
Dental sealants are most beneficial on the chewing surfaces of permanent molars and premolars, which have deep grooves and fissures that trap food particles and bacteria. First permanent molars that erupt around age 6 and second molars around age 12 are prime candidates for sealant protection.
Dental sealant application is completely painless and requires no drilling or anesthesia. The process involves cleaning the tooth surface and applying the liquid sealant material, which is then cured with a special light. Most patients find the procedure quick and comfortable.
Sealants are typically applied to healthy tooth surfaces without existing decay or restorations. If a tooth already has a filling, Dr. Diamond will evaluate whether additional sealant protection is beneficial for untreated groove areas or recommend alternative preventive measures based on individual needs.
