General dentistry is the foundation of good oral health, covering everything from routine cleanings and checkups to fillings and preventive care. Whether you need a simple cleaning or have concerns about tooth pain, general dental services address the most common oral health needs that keep your smile healthy and functional.
At Diamond Dental, Dr. Barry Diamond takes a comprehensive approach to general dentistry that goes beyond just treating problems after they occur. Using advanced technology like the iTero Element 5D scanner, we can catch issues early and create personalized treatment plans that work with your schedule and lifestyle.
From your child’s first dental visit to maintaining your oral health as an adult, our general dentistry services provide the ongoing care that prevents small problems from becoming major health concerns.
Think of general dentistry as maintenance for your mouth. Just like your car needs regular oil changes to run smoothly, your teeth and gums need consistent care to stay healthy. Regular cleanings remove plaque buildup that brushing alone can’t handle, while routine exams catch problems like cavities when they’re still small and easy to treat.
Many people put off dental visits until something hurts, but pain usually means a problem has been developing for months or even years. Dr. Barry Diamond earned his dental degree from the University of Maryland and completed their Advanced Education in General Dentistry program, giving him expertise in managing both simple and complex oral health situations.
The best part about quality general dentistry is that it actually saves you time and discomfort in the long run. A small filling today prevents the need for a root canal and crown later. Regular cleanings help you avoid gum disease that could lead to tooth loss.
Our iTero Element 5D scanner eliminates the need for those uncomfortable dental impressions that make you gag. Instead, we use a small wand to create precise 3D images of your teeth, making everything from routine checkups to treatment planning more comfortable and accurate.
Digital X-rays provide detailed images with significantly less radiation exposure than traditional films, and we can show you the images immediately so you understand exactly what’s happening in your mouth. This technology helps us detect problems early and explain treatment options clearly.
Perhaps most importantly, our general dentistry approach focuses on prevention and education. We’ll teach you the most effective brushing and flossing techniques for your specific needs, recommend products that actually work, and create a personalized prevention plan that fits your lifestyle.
Dr. Barry Diamond’s training at the University of Maryland included extensive coursework in both general dentistry and advanced restorative techniques. His completion of their Advanced Education in General Dentistry program means he has additional training in managing complex cases and creating comprehensive treatment plans.
Our practice philosophy centers on honest communication about your oral health and treatment options. Dr. Diamond has been featured on PBS Forum 360 discussing digital dentistry innovations, and he uses this expertise to ensure you receive the most current and effective care available.
We believe in creating treatment plans that work with your needs and circumstances. Whether you need basic preventive care or more complex treatment, we’ll explain all your options and help you make decisions that fit both your health goals and personal situation.
Your appointment begins with a review of your medical history and any concerns you have about your oral health. We’ll update your digital X-rays as needed and perform a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, and surrounding tissues, using our advanced diagnostic tools to get a complete picture.
Professional cleanings remove plaque and tartar buildup that regular brushing can’t eliminate, followed by polishing and fluoride treatment if beneficial. Dr. Diamond will explain any findings and discuss treatment recommendations, always ensuring you understand what’s happening and why.
If treatment is needed, we’ll create a prioritized plan that addresses urgent issues first while considering your schedule and preferences. Our goal is never to overwhelm you with extensive treatment lists, but rather to focus on what’s most important for your oral health and overall well-being.

This is the BEST dental practice in the entire Northeast, Ohio. I cannot STRESS how amazing this practice. I pay out of pocket and I will GLADY spend my money here. This is not my neighborhood dentist - I drive about 20 minutes to be a patient here. 1. I came to this practice after not having dental care for a few years after having my son. I like to tell this story because life happens and I know someone else may be in a similar situation. I was VERY anxious about finally getting my dental health back in order. 2. From the FIRST visit, Dr. Diamond made me feel SO comfortable. I thought I had ruined my teeth but they were not as bad. He was VERY encouraging and explained to me how I would get my dental health back on track. Dr. Diamond is just the sweetest soul. He REALLY cares about his patients. I am so blessed to have him as my dentist. He really gives you options when it comes to your dental health and let's you do what you are comfortable with. I prefer to get my deep cleanings by quadrant and he has kept it that way. 3. Sarah the Hygienist. She has made a life changing impact on the way I view dental care. This is the first time in my life that I am excited going to the dental office and getting a deep cleaning/perio cleaning. Sarah is so sweet and it is like going to see close family. By the time we are done catching up, the deep cleaning is done. She has also given me really good advice on getting my teeth where I want them; both health vise and visually. 4. I have some sensory sensitivities when it comes to the sound of the electronic dental tools and I left my AirPods in my car for this visit. Dr. Diamond literally brought out bluetooth noise cancelling headphones. Like, come on! 5. My son who is almost 6 years old also moved over to this practice and loves it here. Everyone is so friendly and Dr. Diamond always tells him how good his teeth look as he has no cavities (very encouraging for him). I do not gain anything from writing this review. If you really want QUALITY dental care, this is the dental office where you need to establish care.Posted on Caitlin KrapfTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’ve been coming here for the past month for two crowns and a filling, and honestly this place is on another level. From the front desk to the chair, everything is smooth. The receptionist always greets me with a smile and makes check-in quick and easy. And Dr. Barry? Man, he’s the LeBron James of molars. Precise, confident, and makes you feel like you’re in championship hands every visit. Never rushed, explains everything, and the work is solid — I walked out of every appointment feeling taken care of. If you want a dentist who actually cares and a team that makes you feel comfortable, this is it.
