Orthodontics is the dental specialty that addresses misaligned teeth, overcrowding, gaps, and bite problems that can affect both your oral health and confidence. These alignment issues can make cleaning difficult, increase your risk of tooth decay and gum disease, and create problems with chewing or speaking that impact daily life.
At Diamond Dental, we understand that orthodontics represents an investment in your long-term health and well-being. Our approach focuses on creating personalized treatment plans that address your specific alignment issues while considering your lifestyle and comfort preferences.
Whether you’re dealing with crowded teeth that are hard to clean, gaps that affect your confidence, or bite problems that cause jaw discomfort, professional orthodontics can provide lasting solutions that improve both function and appearance.
Many people think orthodontics is only about appearance, but proper tooth alignment plays a crucial role in your overall oral health. Crowded or crooked teeth create areas where plaque and bacteria can hide, making thorough cleaning nearly impossible with regular brushing and flossing alone.
Bite problems, medically called malocclusion, can cause uneven wear on your teeth, jaw pain, headaches, and difficulty chewing certain foods. Over time, these issues can lead to more serious problems including tooth damage, TMJ disorders, and premature tooth loss.
The good news is that orthodontics has evolved significantly, with options that fit different lifestyles and comfort levels. Early intervention often means simpler treatment and better long-term results, but it’s never too late to improve your oral health and confidence with proper orthodontic care.
Today’s orthodontics options are more comfortable and efficient than ever before. Advanced techniques and materials mean less discomfort during treatment, fewer emergency appointments, and more predictable results than traditional methods used in the past.
Properly aligned teeth are easier to clean thoroughly, which reduces your risk of cavities, gum disease, and bad breath. When your bite is properly aligned, you’ll experience less jaw strain, which can reduce headaches and face pain while making eating more comfortable and efficient.
Beyond the health benefits, orthodontics can significantly boost your confidence and willingness to smile in social and professional situations. The psychological benefits of feeling good about your smile often surprise patients and can positively impact many areas of life.
Dr. Barry Diamond earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland and completed their Advanced Education in General Dentistry program, which included comprehensive training in orthodontic principles and treatment planning. This additional education provides the expertise needed to handle complex alignment cases effectively.
Our practice utilizes the iTero Element 5D scanner for precise diagnosis and treatment planning, eliminating uncomfortable traditional impressions while creating more accurate treatment plans. Dr. Diamond has been featured on PBS Forum 360 discussing how digital dentistry innovations improve patient outcomes and treatment comfort.
The philosophy at Diamond Dental emphasizes honest communication about orthodontics options, realistic timelines, and expected outcomes. We take time to explain why treatment is recommended, what different options might work for your situation, and how to maintain your results long-term.
Your orthodontics journey begins with a comprehensive consultation where we evaluate your teeth, bite, and jaw alignment using digital imaging and clinical examination. We’ll discuss your concerns, treatment goals, and lifestyle factors that might influence which treatment option works best for your situation.
Once we develop your treatment plan, we’ll review the expected timeline, what to expect during treatment, and how to care for your teeth and appliances. Whether you choose traditional braces, clear aligners, or other orthodontic solutions, we’ll ensure you understand the process and feel comfortable with your choice.
Throughout treatment, regular check-up appointments allow us to monitor your progress, make necessary adjustments, and address any questions or concerns. Most orthodontics cases take 12-24 months, depending on the complexity of your case and how consistently you follow care instructions.

This is the BEST dental practice in the entire Northeast, Ohio. I cannot STRESS how amazing this practice. I pay out of pocket and I will GLADY spend my money here. This is not my neighborhood dentist - I drive about 20 minutes to be a patient here. 1. I came to this practice after not having dental care for a few years after having my son. I like to tell this story because life happens and I know someone else may be in a similar situation. I was VERY anxious about finally getting my dental health back in order. 2. From the FIRST visit, Dr. Diamond made me feel SO comfortable. I thought I had ruined my teeth but they were not as bad. He was VERY encouraging and explained to me how I would get my dental health back on track. Dr. Diamond is just the sweetest soul. He REALLY cares about his patients. I am so blessed to have him as my dentist. He really gives you options when it comes to your dental health and let's you do what you are comfortable with. I prefer to get my deep cleanings by quadrant and he has kept it that way. 3. Sarah the Hygienist. She has made a life changing impact on the way I view dental care. This is the first time in my life that I am excited going to the dental office and getting a deep cleaning/perio cleaning. Sarah is so sweet and it is like going to see close family. By the time we are done catching up, the deep cleaning is done. She has also given me really good advice on getting my teeth where I want them; both health vise and visually. 4. I have some sensory sensitivities when it comes to the sound of the electronic dental tools and I left my AirPods in my car for this visit. Dr. Diamond literally brought out bluetooth noise cancelling headphones. Like, come on! 5. My son who is almost 6 years old also moved over to this practice and loves it here. Everyone is so friendly and Dr. Diamond always tells him how good his teeth look as he has no cavities (very encouraging for him). I do not gain anything from writing this review. If you really want QUALITY dental care, this is the dental office where you need to establish care.Posted on Caitlin KrapfTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’ve been coming here for the past month for two crowns and a filling, and honestly this place is on another level. From the front desk to the chair, everything is smooth. The receptionist always greets me with a smile and makes check-in quick and easy. And Dr. Barry? Man, he’s the LeBron James of molars. Precise, confident, and makes you feel like you’re in championship hands every visit. Never rushed, explains everything, and the work is solid — I walked out of every appointment feeling taken care of. If you want a dentist who actually cares and a team that makes you feel comfortable, this is it. Treatment time varies based on the complexity of your alignment issues, but most patients see noticeable improvements within the first few months. Complete orthodontics typically takes 12-24 months, with simpler cases often finishing sooner and more complex cases requiring additional time for optimal results.
Adult orthodontics can improve oral health by making teeth easier to clean, reduce jaw pain from bite problems, and boost confidence in professional and social situations. Modern orthodontics options are designed with adult lifestyles in mind, offering more discreet and comfortable solutions than traditional braces.
Avoid hard foods like ice, nuts, and hard candy that can damage brackets or wires. Sticky foods like caramel and chewing gum can get caught in braces and be difficult to clean. Limit sugary foods and drinks that increase cavity risk, especially since thorough cleaning can be more challenging with braces.
Your first appointment includes a comprehensive evaluation of your teeth, bite, and jaw alignment using digital imaging and clinical examination. We’ll discuss your concerns, explain orthodontics options, and create a personalized plan that addresses your specific needs and lifestyle considerations.
Orthodontics options include traditional metal braces, ceramic braces that blend with tooth color, and clear aligners for eligible cases. The best choice depends on your specific alignment issues, lifestyle preferences, and treatment goals, which we’ll discuss during your consultation to find the right solution for you.
